In order to be our best selves, it’s important to love and befriend ourselves. This means having high self-esteem and being aware of who we are. When we know ourselves, we can be kinder to ourselves and make better choices for our happiness.

It is ok to say NO:

Then, work up to saying no to bigger things, like taking on too much at work or saying yes to every request from friends and family. Remember, you don’t have to explain yourself when you say no. Making time for me time doesn’t have to be complicated. Just start by setting aside 30 minutes each day to do something that you enjoy. Then, gradually increase this amount of time as you are able. Remember, the goal is to relax and recharge, so don’t put pressure on yourself to ‘achieve’ anything during this time. Just let go and enjoy!
Learning to love and accept ourselves is a journey that takes time and effort. But it is so worth it! When we befriend ourselves, we become more self-aware and learn to set boundaries. We also make time for things that nourish our bodies and minds. These things create a foundation of self-love that we can build on.
